Mission Statement

Every since the beginning of the civilized world, women have put themselves through all sorts of excruciating torture to conform with societies view of what was beautiful, and what was acceptable. In America it was no different. High society ladies preened, and spared no expense to keep up with the trends set by the royal courts of Europe. And everyone else, best as the could, desired to keep up with them. After several revolutions, the introduction of Communism, the World Wars; and with subsequent rise of Hollywood and the fall of several Monarchies. Women turned their attention to the silver screen; and the buxom beauties that lit them up. Women like Rita Hayworth, Jayne Mansfield, Marilyn Monroe, Raquel Welch where house hold names during and era when it wasn't taboo to have curves. That all changed in the 1960's when waif supermodel and fashion Icon Twiggy, and Audrey Hepburn appeared on the scene and literally change and industry standard. It seems to this writer, that every since then it's been taboo to be too curvaceous . Now a days if you aren't a size six or below, you are feces under societies shoes. Women such as Tyra Banks and Kim Kardashian, who are their correct body weight for their height, are labeled as fat. And woman above their sizes shouldn't exist or should just crawl into a doughnut hole and die. Because to the industry that conceives, manufacture and sales the clothes;and starts the trends; that will have average women like me will going in debt to keep up with; we really don't matter. Nine times out of ten, if a designer does cut a piece he is working on to fit a plus size, it seems as if it is done as a after thought. Why do I think I'm average? Well women, I look around me, I tend to see more women that are a size fourteen, than a size four. And it's not because they are lazy. There are medical conditions that can cause you to gain, and retain weight. Or you could be like I was, and have emotional issues that will cause you to want to hide behind it. To all of my skinny, fit sisters out there; please don't judge. In starting this blog, it is not my intention to endorse obesity. But for all of my full figured and fabulous divas, I want to promote awareness, and healthy life choices. And if by me sharing my story, and the others that subsequently will follow, you learn to love and appreciate yourselves for the beautiful people that you are; than I have accomplished my mission.
